    1. Faith Martin is an English author who was born in Oxford She currently is living on a narrow boat She is best known for her popular detective series, starring DI Hillary Greene.

    2. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A REVISED EDITION OF A BOOK FIRST PUBLISHED AS “WITH A NARROW BLADE.”MURDER AT HOME is the sixth in a series of page-turning crime thrillers set in Oxfordshire, featuring DI Hillary Greene and her team. DC Keith Barrington is introduced as a new member of the team. He comes with baggage during his last post he belted his supervisor. Does he have a violent temper? And how will he fit in with this new team?Greene is also concerned about her sergeant, Janine Tyler. Her wedd [...]

    3. This is a 3.5 star read.I received a review copy of this novel directly from the author and publisher Joffe Books. I have voluntarily chosen to review the book, and the gifting in no way determines my review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion. For some reason this DI Hillary Greene novel has been my least favourite, perhaps because the murder investigation wasn't overly thrilling but more than likely because I picked the murderer almost straight away. However the subplots involving the team [...]

    4. This is book 6 in the Hillary Greene series and it just gets better. I absolutely love Hillary her character is realistic with depth that increases with each book. She is loved by everyone except the baddies. She gets results. Sometimes it takes a little longer but she gets there. She is protective of her team and in return she earns their loyalty and together they function excellently. The story begins with the death of an old lady. She was arranging her birthday party and looking forward to Chr [...]

    5. I would like to thank Netgalley and Joffe Books for a review copy of Murder at Home, the sixth novel to feature DI Hillary Greene of Thames Valley Police's all change in Hillary's team. Janine is leaving to get married, Tommy has gone and is replaced by DC Keith Barrington who left the Met under a cloud, her boss is DCI Paul Danvers, the man who investigated her for corruption which means Frank is the only constant and the least said about him the better. In all this turmoil they are called out [...]

    6. donnasbookblog.wordpress/I enjoyed this book and started reading it as soon as it arrived on my Kindle, I have been really impressed with the series so far so jumped in to this one, and it was another book that I really enjoyed! The story was slower than I would normally like but that was mainly due to the story potentially being one that DI Hillary Greene may not be able to crack. The writing style was excellent as always and I love the characters and really enjoyed meeting the new member of her [...]

    7. DI Hillary Greene is trying to save her career. Hillary is a no nonsense person, who at times may push the envelope just a bit much. That usually lands her into trouble with her superiors. In this case, a dying woman, Flo Jenkins is found with a paper knife in her chest in her home. As far as anyone can tell, nothing was stolen from the house. So who would kill a dying woman? Hillary has a new partner who likes to "fly off the handle", just what she needs! She has no evidence in this murder and [...]

    8. 5 starsDI Hillary Greene arrives at the nick to greet her new subordinate, DC Keith Barrington. He has a history of having a bad temper and even punched his last sergeant. Narrowly escaping being sacked, he is transferred from London to Hillary’s team at Thames Valley. She takes a “we’ll see” attitude. Almost immediately they are called out to a death. Florence “Flo” Jenkins has been murdered in her home. At seventy-six, the elderly lady was very ill herself. She was well liked. Who [...]

    9. An old lady is found dead by a neighbour who runs errands for her. Her birthday is close and she is looking forward to both that and Christmas which is just around the corner. Why would anyone want to kill her especially with letter knife? DI Hillary Greene and the team are back to work their magic with a new face on board as Janine is about to transfer pending her wedding to “mellow” Mallow. Janine however has some unwanted attention. Faith always gives the reader a good story based around h [...]

    11. Thank you Netgalley and Joffe Books for the eARC.i was a little torn about this book. it was an interesting read, but it also made me a little bored at times. “Murder at home” is the sixth book in the DI Greene series and i can safely say you do not need to have read the other books to read this one. it stands alone pretty well and any information you need to know about the other books will be presented to you. my main issue with this story is that it dragged on for too long. most of the tim [...]

    12. This is the sixth book in the DI Hillary Greene series and once again I thoroughly enjoyed it. An elderly woman, Flo Jenkins has been found stabbed through the chest with a letter opener .Theres no evidence of a break in and as suicide is out of the question the search for a suspect begins.Flos only living relative is her grandson Dillon, a junkie who usually only turned up on pension days to beg cash from the old lady. He certainly could have committed the murder for the price of a fix. Alterna [...]

    13. Thank you Netgalley and Joffe Books for the eARC.Another terrific book in the DI Hillary Greene series, this was so far my favorite. There are supposedly 7 more to come Can't wait!On his first day as the new DS on the team, Keith Barrington and Hillary get called to the murder of an elderly widow who was stabbed in the heart with her own letter opener. She was a very well liked, kind pensioner with not a penny to her name. Not only that, she was a probable couple of weeks away from death as she [...]

    14. This is the 6th Hillary Greene crime thriller and they just get better and better! Hillary Greene is a detective with a full, rounded character, great humanity and great humility but she is also a very determined person who WILL find the answers to all her questions. One member of her team has moved on and I miss Tommy but she has gained a new member and, of course, Frank Ross is still there, determined to put as many spanners in the works as possible.Faith's books capture the reader on the first [...]

    15. An elderly woman is found dead in her home - stabbed in the chest with a knife. DI Hillary Green and her team struggle to find a motive. The only real suspect is her junkie grandson but they can’t find any evidence to link him to her death apart from her missing pension money. Hillary also has to deal with anew member of the team - DC Keith Barrington left the Met under a cloud and has joined Hillarys team in place of Tommy Lynch who was promoted. Also on the move is Hillary’s DS Janine Tyle [...]

    16. I really enjoy this series! While I typically would rate this type of book a 4, an article I read about how authors depend on star ratings makes me give this a five because it was very good and I have no complaints about the plot or characters. It was well done, even though not a “have to read again” favorite. I rarely read even my favorites a second time around, so I am rewarding the author with the extra star and I will continue to come back for more, so I think that means the extra star i [...]

    17. I'm really enjoying the Hillary Greene series, particularly as they are set in and around Oxford, which is local for me. In this book, Hillary and her team are investigating the stabbing of an elderly woman in her own home. I really like the way the author makes the lives of the police officers just as interesting as the main storyline. In this one, a new detective arrives from the Met under a cloud, determined to prove himself to his new boss. This was another good read from Faith Martin. Thank [...]

    18. Bicester area, a woman seventy six with a knife in her chest. She was looking forward to her birthday and Christmas, no family really. A pension check the day before, jewelry box was empty, a robbery for that little. What a twist, of why it was done, has you guessing to the end. You think you know a person, and could so coldly kill her. Haunting, readers will want to read this lastest book by Faith. Given my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

    19. Another winner in the DI Hillary Greene series! While the reason for the murder was a tad anticlimactic, I thoroughly enjoyed the process of getting there. Lots going on in everyone's personal life which made for a fast paced read. Always great to read a story with a whip-smart, no-nonsense, 40-something heroine!!! Looks like the reissue of books 7-11 are yet to be released, but I'll be first in line when they're available!

    20. DI Hillary Greene and her crew are called to the murder of an old lady who is about to die anyway. Why would someone want to murder her now? Hillary has a new investigator, she needs to see how he will fit in with the crew. Then we have a look at Hillary's love life. Janine who is about to marry and leave has problems Hillary wants to help solve. Many things going on and this murder keeps going nowhere. Who and why, those are the questions that need to be answered.

    21. I really like these books although the more recent ones are hard to find. Our library system has a large print edition of this book. I think the characters are very good and they have a reasonably good sense of place without going overboard with descriptive text. My only complaint is that the solutions to the mysteries tend to spring into the mind of Hillary Greene late in the story instead of being gradually unraveled as the case progresses.

    22. Love this seriesI’m not sure how I stumbled on to this series, but I’m so glad I did! I read the first 6 over the last week and can’t wait for more. I love Hillary’s no nonsense personality and her ability to stay calm and deal with whatever a case tosses her way. Looking forward to the next book!

    23. A fantastic read. Well developed, fleshed out characters, interesting storyline, a great whodunnit all make for an excellent read. I can't wait to read more of the series.Thank you to the author/publisher and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

    24. This time, DI Hillary Greene and her team - including a new face - are investigating the murder of a pensioner in her home. It doesn't seem to be robbery, and the woman was dying anyway.Whilst overall, this is another great DI Hillary Greene novel, I was left a bit disappointed. Too much romance for my liking.

    25. Hillary investigates the death of a harmless elderly woman and (on the side) a police officer stalking her sergeant, Janine. Janine is about to move to another station and Hillary also has a new DC, Keith, while still juggling all her admirers. The plot was a good one, although there was far more re-hashing of events from previous instalments. Sergeant Ross was good value as usual.

    26. She's back!DI Hillary Greene is back! I'm a devoted fan, but this is not Hillary's best read.I highly recommend this series, but this just isn't MY favorite one. Devotees read it, maybe it's just me.

    27. Murder At HomeFirst off I love the Hilary Green series. Hours of great reading, not too heavy of a crime series but just right. They always keep my interest and I look forward to more each time.😄

    28. ReviewOnce again the author has written a book that I could not put down. The suspense builds slowly and with the twists added to the story, it all makes for a really great read that is highly recommended for anyone who likes mysterious.

    29. I enjoy Hillary--a woman who is both intelligent, brave, and compassionate. And her compassion is a key part of her success as a detective. What a relief to have a detective who isn't wallowing in the past and angry all the time.

    30. Caroline Weekes on visiting her friend Flo, on her way to work, finds her dead. But who could possible want to kill 76 year old Flo Jenkins. Thats for DI Hillary Greene and her team to discover. An enjoyable mystery with a fine set of characters.Received an Advanced Reader Copy.

    31. Fantastic Tale.It was absorbing and a real easy read. You soon got to know and like the characters. I didn't want to put the book down until l found out what had happened and how the murder was solved.
